1. Who this policy covers
Avenir Wealth is the Canadian financial-services business of Avenir Wealth Group. In this policy, “Avenir”, “we” and “us” refer to Avenir Wealth. This policy explains the handling of personal information through avenirwealth.ca and related enquiries about our Canadian planning, investment and insurance services.
We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies. Product applications, insurers and other professional service providers may have additional privacy notices and consent requirements. This policy does not replace those notices or cover a separate business simply because it is part of the Avenir group.
2. Information we collect
Enquiries and correspondence. When you email us or use an available enquiry form, we receive the contact details and information you choose to provide. Our website form, when enabled, asks for your name, email, service interest and message, with an optional phone number. It also records your contact permission, optional email marketing choice and submission time.
The life-insurance enquiry also asks for your age range and province. Your full name, email and phone number are required so we can respond to that enquiry.
Insurance and planning applications. If you proceed with advice or a product application, your advisor and the relevant provider will explain the further information needed and how it will be used. This may include identity, financial, beneficiary or health information, depending on the service or product. Please do not put account numbers, identification documents, medical information or detailed financial records in a general website enquiry or advertising form. Ask your advisor how to provide sensitive documents through an appropriate channel.
Technical information. Hosting and security services may process your IP address, browser and device details, requested pages and request times to deliver the website and protect it from misuse. Fonts and displayed images are hosted with the website.
Calculators. Calculator inputs and results are calculated in your browser. This website does not send those values to Avenir’s contact system or save them in a user account.
3. How we use information
We use enquiry information to respond, understand the help you are seeking and arrange appropriate next steps. Where you proceed with a service, relevant information may be used to provide advice, support an application or service request, and meet applicable legal and recordkeeping obligations. Technical information supports website operation, security and troubleshooting.
Optional marketing and planned advertising measurement are separate purposes described below. If we propose a new use of your information, we will explain it and obtain any consent required before that use begins.
4. Consent and your choices
Asking us to respond to an enquiry does not sign you up for marketing or authorize every other use described in this policy. We explain the purposes of collection and seek consent appropriate to the information and circumstances, except where the law permits or requires processing without consent. Sensitive product information has its own application and consent process.
You can contact us to withdraw optional consent or ask about the consequences of withdrawing permission for information needed to provide a service. Withdrawal does not override legal retention requirements. Declining optional marketing or advertising tracking does not prevent you from contacting us.
5. Email, calls and marketing
We use the contact details you provide to respond to your enquiry, including by phone where you have asked for or permitted a call. The optional marketing checkbox on our website form, when available, is for email updates. It is separate from enquiry permission and does not authorize marketing text messages.
Any marketing emails or texts must have an appropriate consent or other lawful basis under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Where CASL requires it, messages must identify the sender, provide contact information and include an unsubscribe method. You can withdraw a marketing preference through the provided method or by emailing us; applicable unsubscribe requests must be honoured within 10 business days. Requested responses and service messages are assessed under their applicable rules, rather than treated as a blanket exemption from CASL.
This website does not currently operate an automated email or text-message marketing system. Any future text-message program will explain its consent and opt-out process before enrolment. Providing a phone number alone is not an opt-in to that program.
6. Service providers and sharing
We do not sell personal information submitted through this website. Information may be handled by providers supporting the service you request and the operation of our website and communications:
- Vercel hosts the website and its enquiry endpoint, and may process technical request information for delivery and security.
- Microsoft provides Avenir’s business email services. Emails you send us are handled through those services.
- Zoho is the website’s supported customer relationship management provider. When online enquiry delivery is enabled, a server connection sends the submitted enquiry and consent choices to the configured Zoho account. If online delivery is unavailable, the site directs you to email instead.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, if enabled on the enquiry form, processes verification and technical information to help identify automated abuse.
- Maven Labs Inc., our marketing service provider, receives enquiry details in order to send follow-up messages on our behalf.
If you ask us to arrange an application or referral, relevant information may also be shared with the insurer, advisor or other provider involved, with appropriate consent or another lawful basis. Their applicable privacy notices explain their own handling of information. If you choose an advisor in our website enquiry form, we record your enquiry in Zoho CRM and forward your contact details, service selection and message to that advisor so they can respond.
We remain responsible under applicable privacy law for information handled on our behalf. Information may also be disclosed where the law permits or requires it, such as responding to a lawful regulatory request. Links to other websites do not make their privacy practices part of this policy.
7. Cookies and optional advertising
Your choice. Where optional advertising measurement is available on our life-insurance enquiry page, we ask before activating Meta Pixel or Conversions API. You can decline tracking and still send an enquiry. Agreeing to be contacted about an enquiry, or choosing email updates, does not give advertising consent. Technical services used to deliver and protect the site may process information as described above.
What advertising measurement shares. With your permission, Meta Pixel can receive a page-view event and an event after an enquiry is accepted. Conversions API can send the corresponding enquiry event from our server. These events use an event identifier to avoid counting the same enquiry twice. They may include Meta browser or ad-click identifiers, browser information and the enquiry page address; Meta also receives the IP address of browser requests. Form answers and URL query parameters are excluded from our advertising events. The page records your tracking preference on your device for up to 180 days so you do not need to choose on every visit. Advertising identifiers, when accepted, may remain for up to 90 days.
Use Change choice or Withdraw consent on the enquiry page to stop future advertising events and remove the advertising cookies we set. Withdrawing consent does not undo information already sent to Meta or a request already in progress. Clearing browser storage also clears the saved choice.
Our setup excludes health information, detailed financial information, calculator inputs and results, and the contents of enquiry messages from advertising events. Any future use of contact information for advertising audiences will require a separate explanation and express consent. This policy itself is not consent to advertising tracking or audience uploads.
Facebook and Instagram lead forms. If we offer a lead form on these platforms and you choose to submit it, Meta will provide us with the information you submit so we can respond. The form will explain its purpose and any separate marketing choice. Meta also handles information under its own Privacy Policy. Please keep sensitive insurance, health and financial details out of advertising forms.
8. Processing outside Canada
Our hosting, email and other service providers may store or process information in Canada, the United States or other countries, depending on the service and its configuration. Information processed abroad may be subject to that country’s laws and lawful access by its courts or authorities. Contact us for questions about the providers involved in your enquiry.
9. Safeguards
Website connections use HTTPS encryption. Available online enquiries are checked to reduce invalid or abusive requests, and the application does not log submitted enquiry contents or provider credentials. These protections do not make ordinary email or a general enquiry form an appropriate place for sensitive documents. No transmission or storage method can eliminate every risk.
If a breach involving information under our control occurs, we will assess it and meet applicable recordkeeping, reporting and notification obligations. Under PIPEDA, a breach creating a real risk of significant harm requires notification to affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as soon as feasible.
10. Retention
Our policy is to retain personal information only as long as needed for its identified purposes and applicable obligations, then delete or anonymize it. The period depends on whether an enquiry remains active, whether you become a client, applicable insurance and financial-services obligations, and any unresolved complaint, dispute or legal requirement.
You can ask about the retention or deletion of your information using the contact below. Deletion may be limited where records must be preserved by law or for an ongoing matter. There is no single retention period that applies to every enquiry, product application and client record.
11. Access, corrections and complaints
You can request access to personal information under our control, ask how it has been used or shared, request correction of inaccuracies, withdraw optional consent, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information. Please start with a description of your request rather than emailing identification documents.
For access requests governed by PIPEDA, we will respond within 30 days unless a lawful extension applies. If an extension is needed, we will notify you within that period, explain the reason and advise you of your right to complain. Access is subject to applicable legal exceptions. We will explain any refusal and available recourse.
You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the relevant provincial privacy authority. Which authority applies depends on the organization and activity involved, not only your place of residence.
12. Changes to this policy
We will post updates here and change the date above. Before introducing new tracking tools or materially different uses of personal information, we will provide an updated explanation and obtain any consent required. For general limitations of website information, see our disclosures.
